Guilt Is Finished

1 John 1:9; Psalm 32:5

Confession opens the clenched hand.

Unconfessed guilt grows heavy because secrecy gives it room. David described the exhaustion of silence, then the relief of confession. God already knows; confession is where we stop defending ourselves and agree with the truth.

Some guilt is true and calls for repentance. Some is false, born from abuse, manipulation or responsibility that was never yours. The cross helps us face both: we confess our own sin and return borrowed blame to where it belongs.

Forgiveness is not always felt immediately. Receive it by faith, and let truth tutor your emotions over time.

Merciful God, show me what is mine and what is not. I confess my sin and receive Your faithful cleansing. Amen.
