But God Sent Me Here
1 Kings 17:1 to 7 - "So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD." 1 Kings 17:5 KJV (excerpt)
There is a particular kind of confusion that comes when you have tried to obey God and still find yourself in difficulty. You prayed before making the decision. You took the step carefully. Now something is going wrong, and you are wondering whether you heard Him at all.
Elijah did not choose Cherith because it looked convenient. God instructed him to go there, drink from the brook and receive food from the ravens. He obeyed, and the provision came. Yet the same passage tells us that the brook eventually dried up. His obedience and the drying brook belong to the same story.
Before you accuse yourself over every difficult turn, pause. Hardship alone does not prove that you have missed God. Equally, feeling strongly about a decision does not make it His instruction. Bring your choices back to Scripture, seek wise counsel and be willing to learn. There is room for honest examination without putting yourself on trial every morning.
Perhaps today you cannot explain why the place that once sustained you feels so difficult. You can begin with a simple prayer: Father, help me understand what faithfulness looks like here. You do not need a polished explanation before you come to Him.
Have I treated difficulty as proof that I made the wrong decision?
What needs honest review, and what have I been condemning myself for without evidence?
Prayer
Father, steady my heart where obedience has become difficult. Show me where I need correction, and free me from accusations You have not made. Give me grace to remain faithful while I seek understanding. In Jesus' name, amen.
Declaration for Today
I belong to God, even here, where so much is difficult to understand. I can come to Him with my questions and receive His correction without living under accusation. By His grace, I will remain faithful in this place. I trust Him to help me understand the next step.
